The tattoo technique involves introducing a pigment into the skin with a needle creating some kind of design. The reason they last so long is their depth: approximately 1 to 2 mm. The ink is not injected into the epidermis (the upper layer of the skin that we continue to produce and change throughout life), but into the dermis, which is the second deepest layer of skin. The cells of the dermis are very stable, therefore the tattoo is practically permanent.
That is why it is essential that when making a tattoo we are aware that the decision we are making is for a lifetime.
To remove a tattoo there are laser treatments, but they are very expensive and the skin never returns to its original state by one hundred percent.
La técnica del tatuaje consiste en introducir un pigmento en la piel con una aguja creando algún tipo de diseño. La razón por la que duran tanto es su profundidad: aproximadamente entre 1 y 2 mm. La tinta no se inyecta en la epidermis (la capa superior de la piel que continuamos produciendo y cambiando a lo largo de toda la vida), sino en la dermis, que es la segunda capa de piel más profunda. Las células de la dermis son muy estables, por lo tanto el tatuaje es prácticamente permanente.
Por eso es primordial que a la hora de hacerse un tatuaje seamos conscientes que la decisión que estamos tomando es para toda la vida.
Para quitarse un tatuaje existen tratamientos con láser, pero son muy costosos y la piel nunca vuelve a su estado original en un cien por ciento.
